The Halifax District RCMP is investigating today’s fatal collision on Highway 102 near the Halifax Airport.
This morning at around 7AM, the Halifax District RCMP, Fire, and EHS responded to a report of a multi vehicle collision between exists 5a and 5.
Upon arrival, officers learned that traffic on Highway 102 slowed to a stop due to an unrelated collision ahead, resulting in a pile up. A Dodge Ram 1500 travelling south collided with a Subaru Outback and both cars then hit at Ford F150.
The passenger of the Ram 1500 was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The Subaru driver suffered non-life threating injuries and was taken also taken to the hospital. The driver of the Ford was not injured.
Highway 102 was closed for several hours but it has since reopened. The RCMP stated that their thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families.
