Daycare workers will receive some details about their pay raise on Tuesday.
Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, Becky Druhan will make an announcement about wages for early childhood educators in Dartmouth.
She will be joined by Mona Fortier, President of the Treasury Board.
Some daycare workers walked out at the start of the school year and staged a protest in Halifax over the lengthy time it was taking to implement the pay bump.
The are making between $15-19 per hour, it’s not clear what the new wage package will look like but Druhan has stated repeatedly the government recognizes the importance of their work and the urgency to give them better pay.
More money for workers in this sector is part of the federal government’s deal with Nova Scotia to bring in $10 per day child care.
The agreement includes $605 million in funding over four years.
