No doubt just like you, I’ve been appalled and horrified over what nutjob Putin has done in Europe creating an unprovoked war in Ukraine.
Other than write or call our Member of Parliament to urge them to leave no stone unturned in providing help to Ukraine and chasing the Russian oligarch’s out of Canada (they may not be here but be assured that they own properties in this country) what can the average person do?
The sunflower is the flower of Ukraine. Put it on your Facebook page. Blue and yellow are the colours of the flag of Ukraine. Show your support with blue and yellow. Also, you may notice on social media and on texts that there is a little yellow flower emoji after someone’s name. It’s the sunflower emoji. It shows your support for Ukraine.
Also on this website, if you want to donate to the Red Cross effort in Ukraine, just click on the link.
And if you really want to get up Putin’s nose, here’s a neat little trick. Putin has censored all media in Russia – you can’t even call his invasion an invasion or a war. So the average Russian has no idea what is going on. There are hundreds of ways to get the word out. Search a B&B, hotel, restaurant, any kind of business in Russia and leave a review. Like, ” food was good but Putin’s unprovoked war made me lose my appetite. ” Or fit in the number of Russian troops who will be coming home in bodybags that day.
Enjoy the sunflowers.
