Long before he became Kool-Aid man in the late seventies, he looked similar but was called “pitcher man”.
The sweet drink had plenty of sugar and was certainly the taste of summer in our home.
Back then there were probably only a half dozen flavours but they have expanded over the years to 22!
We’ve also seen sugar reduced, Jammers and liquid concentrate.
But as a kid I would happily mix up some orange or lemon-lime in a big glass pitcher with some ice cubes.
Even with all the cool new flavours like Blue-Raspberry and Sharkleberry Fin, I still preferred the green stuff (lemon-lime)
