The other night Jeopardy had a question about Nova Scotia. This actually happens on a frequent basis, so I didn’t get too excited.
You see I’m one of those proud Nova Scotians who sings the line ” You flew your Lear Jet up to Nova Scotia” louder than the rest of the song in Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain”
I loved the scene in last season’s “Billions” where Axe flies to Nova Scotia to meet someone. There are at least 3 episodes of “Friends” where they mention Nova Scotia.
For a small province of almost a million people we get way more than our fair share of mentions in TV shows and movies. Is there some secret Nova Scotia mafia writing the scripts for all these films and shows and sneaking in mentions? You certainly don’t hear Toronto mentioned as often as Nova Scotia.
What’s the most recent movie or show where Nova Scotia got mentioned, and what is your favourite?
For me, it’s World War Z near the end. A very, very cool ending.
