The accident happened on Highway 3 near the intersection of Highway 332 near Frank’s Corner Garage just outside Lunenburg at 8:45 this morning.
The bus was transporting students to Park View Education Centre at the time.
The three students were transported to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Lunenburg County RCMP, EHS and Lunenburg Fire Department were on scene while Blockhouse Fire Department provided support.
Witnesses say the vehicle, a camper van, failed to stop at the intersection and drove into the bus.
The driver of the RV was not injured and is expected to face charges.

Lunenburg Fire Captain Trevor Lohnes says it was fortunate the injuries weren’t worse.
“It could’ve been a lot worse. It’s a bank, holding the driver’s side of the bus up. If it would’ve rolled over, it could’ve been a lot worse. It’s the first time in 25 years I’ve been to a bus accident of this nature.”
South Shore Regional Centre for Education contacted parents, some of whom arrived to take their children home.
Another bus arrived within the hour to transport the students who wished to continue on to class.
Regional Executive Director Paul Ash says his office was in constant communication with RCMP throughout the incident.
Ash offered words of praise to the first responders as well as those on the bus.
“We want to commend the driver in the way she handled the situation, and the students. It’s very unfortunate, but in these situations, when they do occur, we like to make sure everything is running in the way it’s supposed to, and it seems as though everything did this morning.”
Crews are on scene and estimate the area should be cleaned up by noon.
