A Yarmouth County mother will continue to tell her heartbreaking story.
Jennifer Holleman wants the nation to know that her daughter Maddison Fraser died after being a victim of human trafficking.
Holleman says it’s real, the perpertrators are active in many rural communities, and the Criminal Code laws need to be toughened.
Holleman says Maddison was lured from Yarmouth to Alberta by violent pimps when she was 19.
She says she was beaten and brainwashed.
Holleman says she’s been invited to share Maddison’s tragic story with the House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights next month.
She knows Maddison will be with her.
“I spoke at a church yesterday in Clare and a lady actually came up to me and said ‘Maddison has been with you the whole service and sat behind you and said keep talking Mom, keep talking.’”
Holleman will speak to the Standing Committee Monday March 19 in Halifax.
