The Rotary Club of Lunenburg has presented Farley Blackman with its Paul Harris Fellow recognition.
Blackman’s company, FARBLACK, has helped restore residential and commercial properties in town including completing a 10-year, multi-million dollar restoration of the Lunenburg Opera House last year.
He says it feels great to be recognized.
“The Rotary is an amazing organization. They do so much for the community and they do a lot internationally, as well. To be recognized by such an organization is certainly humbling. I think they appreciate what we’ve done for Lunenburg over the past decade or so.”
Blackman and his company are currently working on restoring an old sail loft on Montague Street, calling it a “very large project.”
They are also planning to open up a brewery and distillery, a cidery and an artisan chocolate shop in Lunenburg.
“It’s a beautiful town and the history here is pretty fantastic. To combine heritage, natural beauty, great people and to do unique things is really a perfect place for us to focus on.”
FARBLACK is also in its third season of operating the Dis.cord Art Gallery.
