The construction timeline remains on target for the South Canoe Wind project. Community Relations Manager, Mary-Frances Lynch, says 150 workers are on-site between New Russell and Vaughan. She says over 20km of road has been created, over half of the foundations for the 34 turbines are built and all transmission lines have been installed. Lynch says they will soon begin building the turbines. She says, “Our next big milestone is the delivery of turbines to site and that first delivery is going to arrive to site on Monday October 6.” The turbines will produce enough energy to serve approximately 32,000 homes once the project is complete. A public meeting to discuss turbine delivery and traffic will be held September 30 at the New Ross Fire Hall from 7pm to 8:30pm.
