Young people across the province are being asked to make art that speaks to issues of human rights.
The Human Rights Commission has put the call out as part of their 50th anniversary celebration.
Adria May with the commission says they wanted to find a way to engage youth in the process.
“This particular initiative targets the age group of 12-24. We believe that engaging them in the formative years is important in building respective and inclusive communities…We hope that art is a way that we can spark not only critical thinking, but conversation and dialogue as well as understanding on human rights issues.”
Completed works need to be delivered or mailed to the commission by April 18th.
People on the South Shore will be able to get a peek at some of the selections when they’re on display at the Bridgewater library during the month of July.
