Premier Stephen McNeil says there were no surprises for him in the federal budget.
He’s preparing to head back to the Nova Scotia Legislature on April 25.
McNeil says the province’s budget will be tabled on April 27 and will focus on growth.
“Make sure our export growth continues, the job opportunites here for young people and population growth; all the things that we continue to work on the last number of sessions. This budget will continue to build on those priorities for Nova Scotians.”
McNeil says the budget discussion will dominate the spring session of the legislature.
When asked about the timing, McNeil said he wanted to wait until after Easter weekend in mid-April to reconvene the house.
He expects the session will finish by the Victoria Day long weekend in May.
