Important health projects will vie for much-needed funding from women who care.
The Charm Diamond’s Centre Women’s Giving Circle is scheduled for November 1 at the Best Western Plus in Cookville.
The fundraiser will see 100 women pay $100 to be part of the night and vote on which health project receives $10,000.
Development Officer with the Health Services Foundation, Alison Clements, says she likes the grass roots concept.
“It’s literally the medical professionals on the South Shore coming forward to our donors and presenting this concept and then the donors actually get to pick what it is.”
The project will impact either Fishermen’s Memorial or South Shore Regional Hospital.
Clements says it should be an eye-opening experience.
“This is stuff that people just know that they need cause they work in those departments day after day and they see patient needs and patient wants. We really get to see the behind the scenes look at what is needed and they bring it to the forefront and we all get to learn something that night.”
Tickets can be purchased at the Health Services Foundation office.
