Lunenburg’s waterfront is set to come alive this weekend as South Shore Oktoberfest kicks off with two full days of concerts, craft beer, food, and family activities.
The festival begins Friday evening with a major outdoor concert on Bluenose Drive, headlined by East Coast hip-hop star Classified.
He’ll be joined by Ria Mae, JRDN, Brett Matthews, Quake Matthews, Pineo & Loeb, Air Traffic Control, along with special guest DJs IV and O’Sound.
The show runs from 6:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.
On Saturday, the focus shifts to beer, food, and family activities.
The Craft Beer Market runs from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., featuring samples from local breweries, live music from The Roving Steins, and souvenir glasses for ticket holders.
A beer garden follows from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with live music by LOFT and plenty of traditional food, from German sausages to pretzels.
Family-friendly activities are also scheduled throughout the day, including face painting, a kids zone with crafts, inflatables from GLOW, pumpkin painting, and performances by the Brukewasser Feuerwehr Rhinelanders German Band and the Kilted Chef. A vendor market will also showcase Nova Scotia Loyal products.
The setting on the Lunenburg waterfront adds to the festival’s draw, offering visitors a chance to take in the historic scenery while celebrating.
