The province will pay to repave a part of the highway near Truro.
The government is going to fix up 13 kilometres of the southbound lanes on the 102, according to a news release.
That is from the Millbrook interchange down to the Shortts Lake Road overpass.
It is one of the busiest roadways in the province.
“The thousands of people who travel this highway every day deserve to know it is safe and being well maintained,” wrote Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley MLA Scott Armstrong, who is also Minister of Opportunities and Social Development.
The project should be done by late fall.
The government has set aside $162 million for roadway improvements across the province.
