The Kings Transit Authority is getting a major boost in federal funding.
$5.1 million will go toward public transport infrastructure in Annapolis, Kings and Digby counties.
It will be spread out over ten years, starting in 2026.
That’s about $500,000 a year, nearly a fourth of the company’s current operating budget.
The federal government says the money would give them predictable, long-term funding to help plan for key improvements.
But to make it official, the transit authority must submit a capital plan and get it approved.
