A big win for Halifax Pride!
Fierté Canada Pride has selected the local organization to host the national festival in three years.
According to the Halifax Pride Society’s announcement, Canada Pride will happen in Halifax from July 15th to 25th, 2027.
Running simultaneously with the city’s festival, it will include favourites like the parade and Dykes vs. Divas, plus 20 new events across the HRM.
A human rights conference is also planned to draw hundreds of delegates from across the country.
In the release, the operations manager of the Halifax Pride Society, Fiona Kerr says, “This event is the next step in our organization and festival’s growth. The chance to not only bring folks from across Canada to the Maritimes but show off how we do Pride here in Halifax is going to be an incredible opportunity for our community.”
The organization says it wants to highlight the about 15 rural and regional celebrations and the important work they do for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Vancouver just hosted this year’s national Pride festival.
