A hard-fought match for Canada and Germany on day eight of the Paris Olympics Women’s soccer quarterfinals.
Germany won in a shootout 4-2 and will move on to the semi-finals against the United States of America.
Canada had a six-point deduction at the Paris Olympics after a team staff member used a drone to spy on New Zealand’s practices.
The Canadian Olympic Committee and Canada Soccer appealed for the point deduction, however, the Court of Arbitration for Sport dismissed the appeal.
Canada won Wednesday afternoon’s game against Colombia to advance in any chance of winning medals.
