We’re almost there. Summer starts in just a few hours. Officially on Thursday at 5:50.
I will say I don’t really have a favourite season. There are things I like about all of them. And I’m really happy I live in a place with distinct seasons. I enjoy spring as the world comes to life. I like the heat of summer. Fall can be truly lovely with the colours and pleasant weather. Winter… well, probably not my favourite, but I still enjoy playing in the snow a bit. But summer officially is about to get underway.
Already people have been celebrating in places like Stonehenge. I’ve always thought I might like to see that some day, which you can do. These days it gets lived stream, so you can watch the festivities.
I really don’t have a lot of plans for the summer. No great trips planned anywhere. Just planning to relax and enjoy things as they come. Maybe try a few new things on the barbecue, since last year I finally discovered grilling fruit, it’s made me wonder what else I might be able to throw on there. I also found an old smoker buried in the basement. I have no idea how to use it, but I’m hoping to figure it out. Brisket and ribs could be in my future if I can.
I’m sure there will be some fishing involved. Probably a bit of swimming and playing in the water with the family.
But summer being the type of season it is, I know I’ll find ways to enjoy it. I just don’t have a whole lot of plans. That way, everything can be a surprise.
