West Hants is getting infrastructure upgrades to prepare for future growth and protect against storm surge.
All three levels of government are investing a total of just over $4 million in the project.
The work includes replacing underground sanitary and storm sewers, as well as upgrading potable water services and roadway surface structures on College Road and Nesbitt Street in Windsor.
These improvements will increase access to drinking water and the capacity to treat and manage wastewater and stormwater.
In Friday’s provincial release, West Hants Regional Municipality Mayor Abraham Zebian says, “We are thrilled to have our College Road and Nesbitt Street projects approved for the federal Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.
These projects will allow West Hants to provide increased capacity in our treatment of wastewater and stormwater as well as increase access to potable water. It will also allow the municipality to make College Road and Nesbitt Street safer by widening the streets and installing curbs.”
