You can now access a summary of your medical records through YourHealthNS.
The province says the app gives a summarized version of things like allergies, intolerances, medical conditions, diagnostic imaging, lab sets, medications, hospital visits and stays.
The information comes from the secure provincial electronic health record.
“The more information a provider has about a patient’s health history, the faster they can assess and recommend treatment, especially in an emergency when every moment counts,” said Michelle Thompson, Minister of Health and Wellness. “We can’t predict when and where we may need care, but we can be prepared. This allows any Nova Scotian to share a summary of their medical history with any provider, anywhere, in minutes.”
It includes health data from hospitals, primary care, pharmacy and virtual care. The information is private and secure and can only be accessed by the user but does not include complete medical history.
There have been more than 1.2 million logins since records were made available on the app in January 2024.
