Nova Scotia Power says a planned overnight outage will affect Chester and surrounding communities this weekend.
The outage is scheduled to begin Friday, September 5, at 11:00 p.m. and last until Saturday, September 6, at 7:00 a.m.
The eight-hour interruption is required so crews can carry out structure upgrades aimed at improving the reliability of service in the area.
Customers in the following communities will be impacted:

- Bayswater
- Big Tancook Island
- Birchy Head
- Black Point
- Blandford
- Canaan
- Chester
- Chester Basin
- Chester Grant
- Chester Village
- Coleman Cove
- Dauphinnie Mill Lake
- Deep Cove
- East Chester
- East Iron Bound Island
- East River Point
- East River
- Fox Point
- Frog Island
- Hubbards, Ingramport
- Little Tancook Island
- Marriots Cove
- Mill Cove
- Mill Lake
- New Harbour
- Northwest Cove
- Queensland
- Robinsons Corner
- Sawler Lake
- Sherwood
- Simms Settlement
- Southwest Cove
- Tancook Island
- Upper Blandford,
- Windsor Road.
The utility says customers in these communities will receive an automated call in advance so they can plan accordingly.
