Nova Scotia collected 16 medals on Wednesday at the Canada Summer Games, including six golds, four silvers, and six bronzes.
In canoe races, Eric Chouinard of Cole Harbour won gold in the men’s 200m. Nova Scotia’s teams also took gold in the mixed 500m, men’s four 200m, and men’s four 500m events.
In kayaking, the women’s four squad captured gold in the 500m.
In swimming, Landon Arbeau of Lower Sackville won the men’s Special Olympics 50m backstroke final.
Silver medals came from Alex Erith-Ellwood in the men’s 500m kayak, the mixed 500m kayak team, the women’s four 200m kayak, and Ellie Hearn in the women’s Special Olympics 50m backstroke.
Bronze finishes included Victoria Tran in the women’s 500m canoe, the women’s two 200m canoe team, Emilee Vaters in the women’s 200m kayak, the men’s two 200m kayak team, Julia Snelgrove in the women’s road cycling race, and Brody MacPherson in the men’s 100m breaststroke.
With Wednesday’s results, Nova Scotia continued to add to its medal count across multiple sports, now with a total of 37. You can see the full medal table online.
