What should you do if a wildfire is threatening your home?
The Nova Scotia Department of Emergency Management says you need to have a to-go bag ready.
Being able to look after yourself and your family for up to three days is key.
They say the kit should be easy to carry, and everyone in the house should know where it is.
You should also have copies of important papers like your drivers license, birth certificate and insurance.
And to keep your gas tank full and phones fully charged.
