A public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday evening as the Town of Lunenburg’s Planning Advisory Committee seeks feedback on a proposed zoning change for a planned 65-unit apartment development on Brook Street.
The applicant, Solterre Inc., is requesting to rezone two parcels of land from mixed-use commercial to general commercial.
The zoning for one of the parcels would also shift from Old Town/New Town 1 to Marine Form. These changes are needed to move forward with the residential project.

The public participation meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall (120 Townsend Street, back entrance). No decisions will be made at the meeting, but residents are encouraged to attend and provide feedback.
The property includes the site of the former Lunenburg Foundry, and the project has already drawn community interest and concern.
Some residents have questioned whether eight planned parking spaces will be sufficient for the number of units, and there are broader concerns about traffic, sewer and power capacity, and the impact on nearby neighbourhoods.
The meeting is open to all. Those who cannot attend in person can still submit written comments to the Town of Lunenburg by email or mail.
