The Region of Queens is moving ahead with a plan to explore installing new Tesla superchargers at Queens Place Emera Centre in Liverpool.
Council recently approved an agreement with Tesla to conduct a feasibility study on the site. The study will examine whether the location has the electrical capacity and infrastructure needed to support the addition of high-speed EV chargers.
Liverpool currently has one fast-charging station at the Sobeys location on Market Street, as well as other charging points at the Best Western and White Point.
Nova Scotia Power has also announced plans to add two fast-charging stations near the visitor information centre on the waterfront.
The proposed superchargers would add another option for both local EV owners and drivers passing through the area. The Region will be working with Nova Scotia Power to evaluate grid compatibility and technical requirements for any potential installation.
If the study finds the site suitable, the Region of Queens and Tesla would then consider next steps toward construction.
No firm timelines have been set.
