Israel and Iran have agreed to a “complete and total ceasefire,” according to the U.S. president.
Donald Trump made the announcement in a post on his Truth Social platform on Monday evening.
Trump said the ceasefire would be phased in over 24 hours and bring an “Official END” to the war.
Just hours earlier, Iran launched a missile attack against a United States military base in Qatar.
The so-called 12 Day War between Israel and Iran began on June 13 after Israel launched surprise attacks on key Iranian military and nuclear facilities.
That prompted Iran to retaliate by launching missiles at military sites and cities in Israel.
The United States entered the conflict over the weekend after bombing three Iranian nuclear sites.
On Monday — just hours before the ceasefire was announced —Iran launched a missile attack against a U.S. military base in Qaar.
Iran said it dropped the same number of bombs that the United States did on its nuclear sites. Qatar reportedly intercepted the attack, and no deaths or injuries were reported.
