An infant was killed and three others injured in a side-by-side crash near Forties, Nova Scotia, and a woman is now facing multiple charges in connection with the incident.
On May 27, 2024, emergency services responded to a Polaris side-by-side crash on a logging road near Forties Road.
The vehicle had four occupants.
Following an investigation supported by RCMP collision reconstructionists and the RCMP’s National Forensic Laboratory Services, police determined that the driver’s blood alcohol concentration was more than twice the legal limit at the time of the crash.
On June 4, 2025, RCMP arrested and charged 28-year-old Madisyn Elizabeth Parker of Forties with:
- Impaired Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death
- Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Causing Death
- Causing Death by Criminal Negligence
Parker appeared in court and was released on conditions. She is scheduled to return to Bridgewater Provincial Court on July 2.
