RCMP have laid several charges against a Nine Mile River man following two separate incidents in Lunenburg and Shelburne counties.
The first happened when an officer with Lunenburg County RCMP spotted a grey Honda Civic without a license plate on Highway 103 near Chester Basin.
When the officer activated lights and sirens, the driver sped off. Police did not pursue due to public safety concerns.
The vehicle was later seen travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes near Exit 9. Additional RCMP units and air services from the Department of Natural Resources were brought in to assist.
The vehicle was eventually located near Oakland Road in Oakland. Officers arrested the driver and a youth passenger without injury.
The man is now charged with flight from a peace officer and dangerous operation in connection with that incident.
RCMP say the same person was also wanted in relation to an earlier investigation in Barrington Passage. In that case, a vehicle matching the description initially stopped for police but then reversed toward an officer before driving off.
He now faces additional charges from that event, including two more counts of flight from police, dangerous operation, and assault with a weapon.
The man appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court and was released on conditions. He is scheduled to return to court in July.
