This week marks two years since massive wildfires broke out in our province.
No charges have been laid in the Upper Tantallon fire that destroyed over 150 homes.
Under the Forests Act, the province has only two years from the date of an offence to lay charges.
Natural Resources minister Tory Rushton provided an update after cabinet.
“What I can say is that it’s still an open investigation. If anyone has the least bit of information, we would certainly like to hear from you,” said Rushton.
Rushton says it was a serious fire that put scars on many people’s lives.
“We were very active in the investigation, and the one in Barrington Lake. We want you to come forward with anything you have.”
A 23-year-old man is set to be sentenced on a Forests Act charge next month in the Barrington Lake wildfire.
