Former United States President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Several reports say it is an aggressive cancer that has spread to his bones.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris wrote on social media that her heart goes out to his whole family.
“Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership. We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery,” wrote Harris.
The Biden Office says the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management, several outlets have reported.
Biden was the 46th president of the United States from 2021, when he beat Republican Donald Trump, and then stepped down from the presidential race in 2025.
Biden also served as the 47th Vice President alongside President Barack Obama from 2009-2017.
