Did the wind keep you awake again?
It won’t be letting up right away for everyone.
Environment Canada says westerlies could gust up to 100km/hr in some parts of Nova Scotia Tuesday. Wind warnings are in effect for Digby, Yarmouth, Shelburne, Richmond and Victoria counties plus Sydney Metro and Cape Breton County.
Windy conditions have disrupted travel with some ferry cancellations and a traffic restriction of the Confederation Bridge (as of 8:38 a.m. Feb 18) until further notice. Check sailings for Bay Ferries and Marine Atlantic.
As of 9 a.m. Tuesday, crews are also working to restore electricity for more than 3,500 customers after high winds knocked out power in parts of the province.
A winter storm warning is in effect for the Cape Breton highlands.
Meanwhile after two recent storms, some roads are still icy, and school is cancelled for many students in the province on Tuesday.
