A new Deputy Mayor for the Region of Queens.
Councillor Maddie Charlton was nominated and elected to the position by acclimation, in the first official act of the newly elected council, November 12.
Charlton takes over the role from Jack Fancy, who has served since 2022.
The Deputy Mayor steps in to act as mayor, when they are unavailable.
The term of office is two years.
In a release, the municipality says Deputy Mayor Charlton is serving her second term on council and is looking forward to continuing to work to create positive change in Queens.
