Quick action by local firefighters helped prevent the spread of a fire on the walking bridge on the Centennial Trail in Bridgewater.
The fire was quickly put out, but the bridge is dangerously close to the woods and could have been much more serious.
Multiple fire departments in Lunenburg County were involved in the effort.
In a post from the Town of Bridgewater, the Trestle Trail bridge will be closed until further notice.
It is not known how the fire started.
