A certain football game will be coming up this weekend. I will admit, I enjoy watching football. For the actual game itself. Although I know not everyone feels the same.
There are probably a large number of people who won’t even bother watching. They will be looking for something… sometimes, anything… else to watch. Plenty of people have no interest in the game at all.
Others may be watching for the ads, which are certainly an entertaining part of the game. Although you can always catch up with them inline. In fact, you can probably find most of them already on various websites.
There are those who will watch for the halftime show. Although waiting several hours for a short performance seems a bit much to me. But if it’s your thing, have it it.
This year, there may even be those who will be watching to see Taylor Swift, if she makes it. It almost seems that a good number of them only want to see her so they can complain about seeing her, but if that’s what turns your crank, all the best to you.
But I will watch because I hope to see a good game. Of course the snacks don’t hurt. And I will say it is one of those days that thoughts of a diet or any sort of caloric restrictions will be left well outside the door.
I will be sitting down tomorrow to figure out exactly what I want and at what point in the game I plan to consume it. Some may already have purchased snacks, but I have discovered that buying snacks too far in advance isn’t the best plan. I am likely to test them, just to check for taste and freshness, of course. Such careful testing can lead to the snacks disappearing before game time, which is not a good thing.
So I will make my plan and prop myself in front of the TV on Sunday like many others. Unlike some, I will be there to watch the game. And eat snacks.
But really, the snacks are just a bonus. That’s what I’m telling myself.
