I almost thought I was done early. Not that getting ready for Christmas before the day actually arrives would really happen. But I had hopes.
There are always those last minute things. That happens. I know better than to think I’m really done when I think I’m done. But this time, there are several members of the family that had been forgotten. The pets.
So now I have to make a special trip to the store to buy presents for a dog and two cats.
The dog is easy. Pretty much anything that can be chewed or eaten. Especially eaten. She’s not really into toys. She does have a few, but would prefer to eat. Honestly, road kill would likely be a big hit with her, but I think we’ll go for something maybe a bit more processed.
The cats are a little more difficult. They already have plenty of toys as well, but can always use more. They seem to take great delight in leaving them in places you are likely to trip over them. So they sometimes need many toys to build a proper person trap. Although since they are cats, we can just save the empty boxes for them. They’d like that.
But, of course, all these things have to be wrapped. Because it’s Christmas. Presents are supposed to be wrapped. Then we have to help them unwrap their gifts because… no thumbs. That makes it a built difficult for them to tear the paper off. Although it can be done.
So there is one thing that remains on my list. Probably several things. And they deserve all of them.
