It wasn’t a bad Halloween. We’ve had more, we’ve had less. All in all, it seemed about average, as far as numbers of Trick Or Treaters are concerned.
I’ve been seeing various reports from people, some saying numbers were up a bit from past years, others saying they were down from previous years. I didn’t keep a tally, so I can only judge from the amount of treats that were handed out. I figure we had about seventy-five last night.
There were some good costumes. A few surprises. There were a couple Minecraft characters, which have been popping up the last few years. A few from Five Nights at Freddie’s, which surprised me a bit since the movie just came out. But it has been around for a few years, and one of my grandchildren dressed up as one of the characters a couple years ago.
There was also a T-Rex. Felt a bit sorry for him. Trick or Treating can’t be easy for a T-Rex, ’cause, you know… short arms. More than a few zombies and we even had a Julian. You know, the trailer park boy, Julian, which was really just a kid with a glass of coke. At least I think it was just coke.
There were some very creative outfits, which impressed me. That’s the highlight of the night for me, seeing what people have come up with as costumes. And there were some good ones.
We usually get just under a hundred, so we were in the ballpark. Not a stellar turnout, but still pretty good.
Although I was ready for quite a few more. Which makes me very happy for shrinkflation.
You may have noticed, as many seemed to, the size of the treats got smaller this year. They shrink those little bars much more and they’ll have to start handing out magnifying glasses with each box.
But since I’m not really supposed to be eating things like that anyway, and I have a bit left over, I guess it’s a good thing they are making them smaller.
Just trying to protect me from myself, I guess.
