I hate to say it, but I haven’t managed to get out trout fishing yet. I’ve been tempted, but the weather has kept me away. Hopefully that will change.
Not that I need the perfect day to get out fishing. Just one without downpours and a howling wind would be nice. Days like that happen, but mostly while I’m at work. Or it seems that way.
This coming weekend isn’t looking too bad. And I’m getting a little antsy. I mean, this will be the third weekend and I haven’t been out yet. The fish are probably wondering if I’m okay. Since they haven’t seen me for so long. So I’m hoping to get out for a while this weekend.
It’s one of those situations where I don’t really care if I catch anything. That would just be a bonus. It would just be nice to get out.
The dog and I have already spent time wandering the back yard, planning where a few things might go this year. Plant a few things here, a few things there. We’ve got that sort of figured out. Time to get out by the water.
And it is sort of a tradition. Just to put winter behind me and get out a do something I enjoy. And also start the seasonal menu, as it were. First trout, then maybe a few fiddleheads to go with them. And rhubarb. That can’t be too far away. I should go check on that.
But first the trout. It’s time to get out there.
