I keep forgetting. I know many others who have applied and already gotten their money deposited. But it keeps slipping my mind. Mostly because I have never qualified in the past.
The province of Nova Scotia expanded their home heating rebate program this year. So this year, if you have a household income of $85,000 or less, and pay to heat your own home, you can get a $1000 rebate for home heating. And for some reason I keep forgetting to apply.
I know several people who have been saying they got money from the government to help cover heating costs from the past winter. But it’s one of those things, that since I never have qualified in the past, I don’t think of it for the present. And now we’re down to the last week and a half before the deadline.
So I guess I better get things in gear. Hopefully apply for a rebate from the provincial government. Get some money from them so I can use it to pay my income tax. Or maybe my property tax.
Let’s be honest, what one government gives us, another will find a way to take away. The trick is to get it from one before the others swoop in to grab want they want. It might be a vicious circle, but I want to make sure I complete the circle and I’m not just left with the paying out and non of the paying in.
The deadline is coming up on March 31. So if you’re like me, better get at it.
