For me, a bowl of hot chili represents autumn way more than any pumpkin spice drink ever could.
My brother lived in Texas where they claim chili originated.
Texans have a very different outlook on chili – they claim there are no beans or tomatoes in chili.
I love the beans in my chili – I don’t think I would eat it otherwise.
I also like corn in my chili to give it some colour.
And I like my chili thick enough so that the spoon will stand straight up on it’s own, so I guess it’s not soup.
More a combination of soup and stew, or as my family called it – stoup.
Is chili a soup or a stew?
And do you put corn in your chili?
