
RCMP have charged a Yarmouth man with attempted murder after an incident in Shelburne.
Police say they responded to several calls about an altercation between two men, around 8:45 p.m. yesterday, at a business on Ohio Road. It was reported one man was in possession of weapons and fled into the woods on foot prior to the police arriving.
The man came out of the woods a short time later and was arrested without incident. Police say during their investigation they determined the man arrested had threatened another person. There were no injuries.
Thirty-five year-old Jason Joel Goreham has been charged with:
- Attempted Murder
- Two counts of Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Uttering Threats
- Mischief
The RCMP say the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
Goreham has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Shelburne Provincial Court on September 27th.
