The province is on track to enter Phase 2 of its re-opening plan next week.
Premier Iain Rankin says it looks promising as long as case numbers continue to decline and hospitalizations remain low.
“That means businesses will be able to open up a little more and we can add a few more friends to our bubbles. I understand our businesses are anxious to re-open indoors and that day is around the corner.”
The next phase of the plan includes indoor dining at restaurants, bars and casino’s can re-open and retail can expand to 50 percent capacity.
“I want to thank businesses for your patience and for your innovation,” stated Rankin during an end of the week provincial briefing. “It is my hope as we start to open in-doors that we can do so with the peace of mind that we are safe.”
Nova Scotia reported eight new COVID cases and one death on Friday and there are now 143 cases province-wide.
