Residents of Bridgewater will have the chance to learn more about a proposal to build multi-unit apartment buildings on King Street.
A public meeting will be held Wednesday night to provide the public with an opportunity to ask questions and hear details about the project.
The Town of Bridgewater is considering an application put forward in February by Craig Schrader of Nova Scotia Limited to build five apartment buildings with five-units in each at the corner of King and Maple Street.
According to information contained in the application and posted on the town’s website, the buildings would be 2.5 stories with two-units on the first and second floors plus one-unit in the attic floor.
The units would be two-bedroom, except those in the attic floor which would be one-unit. The applicant intends to make between 12 and 25 of the units affordable and to have one barrier-free unit in each building.
Each building would be approximately 4,200 square feet. The property is 0.58 acres and is currently a vacant lot.
The meeting will be held in Council Chambers at Town Hall (60 Pleasant Street) and there is a virtual option as well. It gets underway at 6:00 p.m.
To register for the meeting contact the Community Development Department at 902-541-4386 or mackenzie.childs@bridgewater.ca.
Comments will be received until June 7 and can be submitted through the comment form for the application.
