I am excited to finally share with you the project our team has secretly been working on over the past few months. We have consistently heard from our listeners about their desire to hear more of the music and content that matters to them, the tunes that bring them back to the best days of their lives, songs that make them FEEL GOOD!
Because of you — your request to hear more of what you listened to in High School, to hear the songs your older Brother or Sister introduced you to, and your want to be put into a better mood when listening to the radio – that is why we’re excited to introduce our new format – 70s, 80s, 90s CKBW!
Our On-Air Announcers will stay focused on providing you local content, information, and entertainment. While our lineup remains the same, you will notice some Programming changes. For example, our Birthday Segment will now take place weekday mornings at 6:50. We will also be re-introducing The CKBW Money Pit which will air weekdays at 8:10am. On Monday, if you’re the correct caller and identify the mystery song based off a 1 second clip, you could win $150 of Forbes Kia’s Cash! For every day we don’t have a correct answer we will throw another $10 into the Money Pit!
We are also working to hopefully re-introduce Lions Radio Bingo soon! Stock up on your dabbers!
These past few months have been tough for all of us. While this change won’t solve the many problems the world is facing, I do hope it will provide you some happiness… a much-needed escape.

Since 1947, CKBW has been an integral part of bringing News and Entertainment to the people of the South Shore. During that time, we have gone through many changes, but the one consistent is that we have always focused on what is important to you, our Listener, and that includes the music we play.
With that in mind our team has worked exceptionally hard on finding a music format that compliments the content we put on the air every day. I am extremely happy to say that as of today CKBW will now be your Classic Hits station on the South Shore. Our goal is to have you singing along with all your favourites from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s, I am very excited and confident that this change will take you back in time, allowing you to enjoy some of your greatest memories.
Thank you to the staff for all their hard work and dedication to strengthen CKBW in our Community. During this time, it is more important than ever to TURN UP THE FEEL GOOD!!
