Students in Nova Scotia Schools will now have free access to menstrual products.
367 schools with students in grades four and above will stock the products which could benefit up to 40,000 students.
It will be up to each school to decide how and where to make these products available.
Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Zach Churchill says, “Students should be able to focus on learning. This is one less thing they have to worry about.”
Students will be notified through posters located in their school that include a blank space indicating where menstrual products can be found.
