John Collyer and his lawyer David Bright enter Bridgewater Supreme Court
After describing her version of the alleged assault for the prosecution Thursday, the 20 year old complainant was back on the stand today.
She was emotional at times during the cross-examination.
Collyer’s attorney David Bright challenged her to explain inconsistencies between yesterday’s testimony and a statement she gave to police about the incident in 2017.
During the interview the then 17-year-old omitted parts of the testimony she later gave in court.
The woman says at the time of the interview she was young and didn’t want to discuss the incident but that she clearly remembers the events of the alleged assault to this day.
The case will resume Monday when prosecution will present an interview with John Collyer conducted by police in 2017.
That video evidence and questions to the investigating officer will likely take most of the day.
The trial will adjourn Monday until September.
When it resumes, it’s expected the defence will have Collyer testify in his own defence.
