Provincial camping parks are expected to be busy during the Victoria Day weekend later this month.
But don’t bring any marijuana with you…just yet.
Sandra Fraser, Parks Promotion and Development Officer with Lands and Forestry says there’s a cannabis and alcohol ban for the first 6 weeks of the season.
“From opening to July 1 inclusive, there will be no alcohol or cannabis permitted in any of our provincial camping parks.
Fraser says the law will be strictly enforced.
“We have our park attendants on site and we have conservation officers or police that could be contacted if required.
Cannabis and alcohol usage at both provincial and national parks is restricted to rented campsites only because, under federal laws, occupied campsites are considered temporary dwellings.
