A former student at Park View Education Centre is getting help from his alma mater.
Matt Grace was involved in an accident in late December and has since been recovering at the QEII Hospital in Halifax.
The Park View Panthers boys hockey team will donate their admission and 50-50 proceeds from their game Friday night to the Grace family.
Head Coach Grant Johnston says it’s the right thing to do.
“The Grace family are a well-known family in the community and have supported a lot of different organizations through their businesses. It would be really nice to see people come out and support them since they have been so good to our community for so many years.”
The hockey team is also wearing ‘Miracle for Matt’ stickers on their helmets.
Grace played high level hockey with the Western Hurricanes, now known as the South Shore Major Bantam Lumberjacks, and the UPS Store South Shore Mustangs before graduating Park View in 2016.
Friday’s hockey game between Park View and Central Kings will be played at 7pm at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre.
The Mustangs will also be donating admission and 50-50 proceeds from their hockey game Saturday night to the Grace family.
The Mustangs play the Steele Subaru Major Midgets at 7pm Saturday at the LCLC.
