An attempted murder trial will be heard by a judge alone but not for quite a while.
Angela Mae Wilson was not present today when her lawyer elected for a trial in Supreme Court without a jury.
Wilson is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon.
Last August she allegedly stabbed a man at a home on Church Street in Liverpool.
A preliminary inquiry won’t take place until September due to conflicts in the crown attorney’s and defence’s schedules.
Judge Ronda van der Hoek, cautioned that delaying the trial too long could run afoul of the Jordan decision.
That sets limits on how long it should take for a person to go to trial from the time they’re arrested.
Wilson is currently out on bail and is set to return to court September 3, 2019.
