Later this summer, the Town of Mahone Bay will have a new Chief Administrative Officer on deck.
Dylan Heide steps into the role after having served as Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Shelburne for the past 6 years.
Heide will join Mayor and Council bringing with him extensive knowledge and management experience, having worked in the past for several Municipal Governments.
In the meantime, the Mayor of Mahone Bay is optimistic in their choice of a new Chief Administrative Officer; David Devenne says not only is new CAO Dylan Heide a native of Mahone Bay, he was the best candidate for the job.
“More importantly, he has the educational, academic and experiential qualifications that the selection board was looking for as they conducted the CAO search,” Devenne tells Acadia News. “It is good that we have somebody local, we have an appreciation of what life can be like here in Mahone Bay; he was brought up in Mahone Bay, his parents still live here.”
Heide has also worked for the Province of Nova Scotia and the Government of Nunavut, and is a Graduate of the Master of Public Administration Program at Dalhousie University in Halifax.
Speaking with Acadia News, Heide says he’s very optimistic heading into his new role in Mahone Bay.
“The opportunity to get to join the team at the Mahone Bay Town is something that I’m quite excited about, I know they have a great team there and so I’m very much looking forward to that,” says Heide. “Coming into a council (in Shelburne) that has been very forward thinking and done some great things, we have some great things on the go and I very much look forward to bringing that same kind of energy to Mahone Bay.”
Dylan Heide steps into his new role as Chief Administrative Officer in Mahone Bay starting August 13th, 2018.
