Hundreds of people are wishing a Liverpool doctor well as he heads into retirement.
Dr. Garry Morash has been practicing family medicine for around 40 years.
His practice has patient numbers in the thousands, many of whom came out to a celebration dedicated to him at Queens Place yesterday.

Darlene Gaskell Chandler co-organized the event.
“I hope that he can see how much he’s loved and I hope he understands how much he has done for this community and for all the people.”
Dr. Morash declined to comment to media but was seen making his rounds with the guests, many of whom brought small gifts and cards.
The celebrations included live music by community members as well.

Gaskell Chandler says she hopes the doctor takes a much needed rest.
“I hope he does take a break, I hope he enjoys himself and his family and just does some of the things he hasn’t had time to do,” she says.
The celebration also served as a place for the public to donate to Queens General Hospital for medical equipment in his name.
Several sources say Dr. Morash’s practice had upwards of 4,000 patients.
Two family physicians are set to move to the area in the fall, however they likely will not be able to accommodate all patients.
